The God Save the Queen, 1000% Bearbrick (Chrome Edition) is a striking collectible figure produced by the Japanese design company Medicom Toy, inspired by the legendary artwork associated with the British punk band Sex Pistols and their iconic 1977 single God Save the Queen. The design incorporates the unmistakable imagery of the Union Jack combined with the rebellious visual language that defined the punk movement in late-1970s London.
Standing approximately 70 cm tall, the figure features a highly reflective chrome finish in vivid blue, overlaid with the Union Jack motif and the famous altered portrait of Queen Elizabeth II originally created for the Sex Pistols’ groundbreaking record sleeve. That visual concept, designed by Jamie Reid, became one of the most recognizable graphics in the history of punk culture and political pop art.
Bearbrick figures have become important objects within contemporary design and street-art culture, bridging the worlds of collectible toys, fashion and contemporary art. Since their introduction in 2001, Medicom Toy has collaborated with artists, brands and cultural icons ranging from Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat to major fashion houses and music legends.
This particular Sex Pistols edition celebrates the enduring influence of punk aesthetics and rebellious graphic design. Today, Bearbrick collectibles are sought after by design enthusiasts and contemporary art collectors alike, admired alongside works connected to pop culture and modern art movements linked to figures such as Banksy, KAWS and Takashi Murakami, whose creations continue to blur the boundaries between art, design and global popular culture.
